RNLI Helvick Head Lifeboat Station Chosen as Beneficiary of Waterford Truck Show

The RNLI Helvick Head Lifeboat Station is delighted to announce that it has been selected as the beneficiary of the upcoming Waterford Truck Show, held in conjunction with the Dungarvan Agricultural Show, scheduled for 9th July at Ballygagin, Dungarvan. The generous support comes from John Burke, Larry Power, and Mark Lonergan of the Waterford Truck Show, who have once again demonstrated their commitment to the local community.

As a not-for-profit organization, the Waterford Truck Show channels all of its proceeds directly to a nominated local charity. Their decision to support RNLI Helvick will enable the lifeboat station to enhance its lifesaving capabilities, ensuring that they can continue their vital work of saving lives at sea.

John Burke, Larry Power, and Mark Lonergan, organizers of the Waterford Truck Show, have a long-standing association with the RNLI. In previous shows held in Tramore and Dungarvan, they generously selected the RNLI as the beneficiaries, recognizing the vital work carried out by the charity in safeguarding lives and providing a lifeline to those in distress.

Volunteers from RNLI Helvick Head will also be present at the upcoming Dungarvan Agricultural show, hosting an information stand to share important water safety practices such as Float to Live. Water Safety Advisor for Helvick Head lifeboat station Connie Kiersey said “Summer always brings more people to the seaside. Tragedies can be avoided if we take simple yet essential precautions. By being aware of the risks, respecting the water, and following safety guidelines, we can ensure that our time spent at the seaside remains enjoyable and safe for everyone.”

RNLI Helvick Head Lifeboat Station is a crucial part of the RNLI’s lifesaving network, serving the Helvick Head and surrounding areas. The station’s volunteer lifeboat crews are on call 24/7, ready to respond to emergencies at sea. Their unwavering commitment to saving lives, often in treacherous conditions, highlights the selflessness and bravery of these volunteers.
