The Annual RNLI Flag Day collection for the Helvick Head and Dungarvan Lifeboat Station took place over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, 4th–5th October, with local volunteers once again receiving a warm and generous response from the public across Dungarvan town and An Rinn.
Throughout the weekend, RNLI volunteers took to the streets to raise vital funds in support of the lifesaving work carried out by the local lifeboat. The familiar RNLI flags and buckets were met with great goodwill, as residents, visitors, and local businesses alike contributed to the charity that saves lives at sea.
The RNLI Helvick & Dungarvan fundraising committee expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated, and to the many volunteers who gave up their time to help with the collection. Their combined efforts ensure that the local lifeboat station can continue to provide its essential, year-round service to the community and those in peril on the water.
“Every contribution makes a real difference, we’re deeply grateful for the continued kindness and community spirit that keeps our lifeboat service afloat.”
Seamus Kiersey, Hon Secretary RNLI Helvick Fundraising Committee
