Hundreds of ducks from around the world are in full training for this year’s eagerly awaited RNLI International Duck Race, set to take place on April 26th during the West Waterford Festival of Food.
“We’re hearing reports of fierce competition for the top spot,” said race organizer Kevin O’Morchoe.
Prizes await the winning ducks, which can be sponsored for €3 each or two ducks for €5. Sponsorships are available at select shops in Dungarvan and An Rinn, as well as at a dedicated stall on Davitt’s Quay near the Dungarvan Harbour Sailing Club on race day. All proceeds will directly support the RNLI’s vital lifesaving operations.
The ducks are set to enter the water at 2:30 PM near Devonshire Bridge. Stay updated by following the RNLI Helvick & Dungarvan branch on Facebook at Helvick Head & Dungarvan RNLI or visiting rnlihelvickswim.ie.
The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. Respect the water!
