2026 Helvick Swim moved to Saturday 11th July

Organisers of the 2026 RNLI Helvick Swim have confirmed that this year’s event will move from Sunday 12th July to Saturday 11th July 2026.

The decision follows updated forecasts indicating marginally higher winds and sea swell in Dungarvan Bay on Sunday, which could impact conditions for swimmers, kayakers and safety boats. Holding the swim on the Saturday provides a more favourable weather window while keeping the event within the originally advertised weekend.

To reflect the new timing, the full event timetable has been brought forward by 45 minutes. For example, the 4km swimmers will now start at 14:00 instead of 14:45, with all other check‑in, briefing and start times adjusted accordingly.

All existing registrations remain valid and there is no change to swim distances or fundraising arrangements. Participants are asked to review the updated schedule and ensure they are available on Saturday 11th July.
